Become Our Staff Wellbeing Coordinator – Support the Supporters
1. Role Introduction:
At Supportive Minds, we understand that caring for our community means also caring for those who dedicate their time and energy to supporting others. The Staff Wellbeing Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that our volunteers and team members have a safe, nurturing environment where they feel valued and supported. This role involves providing emotional support, managing wellbeing initiatives, and acting as a liaison between volunteers and management to address any concerns. If you’re passionate about mental health, empathetic, and a good listener, this role could be ideal for you!
2. Responsibilities:
- Offer one-on-one support to volunteers, checking in regularly and providing a space for them to voice their concerns or challenges.
- Develop and implement wellbeing initiatives, such as self-care workshops, mental health check-ins, and team-building activities.
- Act as a point of contact for volunteers needing additional support, ensuring they feel heard and respected.
- Collaborate with the management team to identify areas for improvement in volunteer welfare and propose solutions.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care and professionalism.
3. Expectations:
- Time Commitment:
Minimum of 5-10 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate individual support sessions and wellbeing initiatives. - Communication:
Regularly check in with volunteers, attend team meetings, and provide feedback to management on the overall wellbeing of the team. - Training:
Complete initial training on community guidelines, active listening, and volunteer support strategies.
4. Training and Support:
As the Staff Wellbeing Coordinator, you will receive training on best practices for providing emotional support and handling sensitive situations. You’ll work closely with the management team and have access to resources that help you support others effectively. Your wellbeing is also a priority, and you will be supported in maintaining your own mental health as you take on this important role.
